some tumblin' & climbin'

As a mom, I sometimes get really tired of other parents asking me, "So, did Tucker and Sawyer do tee-ball this summer?....Did you sign them up for soccer?" I guess I dislike these questions because it sort of makes me feel like a bad parent for not getting them involved in these things. In my opinion, my kids are still pretty little and why push these things so early when they will get to do them for the rest of their childhood and adolescence. I want my kids involved but we decided to go a different route. They had both been involved in gymnastics in the past but Tucker is now at an age that he is usually the only boy in the class and I think he was ready for something a little new and different.

Sawyer is back in gymnastics and LOVIN' it! We haven't been in about 9 months but she just walked right in and acted as if she'd never left....

Tucker, on the other hand, got a 'little' nervous about rock wall climbing.

Things got a little better when he realized that 3 of his best buds were in the class -- Carson, Owen, and Reece. There they go to conquer the unknown....

First up: the small wall...no ropes...

Next up: the wall to end all walls, the big mambo jambo, the "Pikes Peak" of rock walls (not really, but boy did it look like that to them:-)

It took some coaxing....

And at first we were quite the rock "hugger"...

But soon we got the hang of it and now we're ready for more rock wall adventures next Monday...

I'm so with you on the sports thing. My oldest really has no interest in sports, and I really don't want to push it with him. I like how you are exposing your children to many different things and letting them find their niches.
